This heart felt understanding is like stating that we need to drink water when we get thirsty to keep ourselves hydrated. We may drink water in cup, bottle, glass, or the palm of our hand. It doesn't matter since we are only drinking the content and not the container. Meditation state is just like water and we can incorporate such state in any daily and nightly activity.
Walking, talking, playing, loving, driving, exercising, eating, sleeping, etc. are various forms of meditation when we maintain ourselves in the state of love, joy, peace, and compassion as we do them.
